The Eduserv Executive Briefing Programme recently hosted a roundtable discussion, with London Borough of Hackney and Sift Digital.

Representatives from ten councils attended, to share their experiences about approaches to managing successful digital change. We did talk about technology, but our conversation quickly acknowledged that transformation will never be truly effective unless there is a fundamental change in mind-set.

This report summarises the top ten findings from our discussion, including:

  • How we can become more user-centered, and engaging with citizens to develop new services
  • The importance of developing cooperative relationships across the public sector
  • Changing the way we attract, manage and empower staff
  • Building the right skills for digital change
