Proceedings - opening plenary and seminars

The symposium began with a keynote address from Alan Cranston (DfES). Alan outlined the Department's current work in the areas of identity management and e-portfolios and his presentation illumininated the context for much of the discussion that followed during the day's other sessions.

The seminars gave delegates the opportunity to look more closely at particular topics. Seminar leaders provided initial background detail and material, and proposed questions or particular issues for discussion. Outcomes and immediate feedback from each seminar were summarised during later plenary sessions for the benefit of all delegates.
