Terry is Technical Director of Belfast e-Science Centre (BeSC) based within the Queen's University of Belfast. BeSC is one of the founding e-Science centres from the UK e-Science programme and the centre is currently supported by an EPSRC Platform Award.
Under Terry's direction, BeSC has focused on service centric computing since 2002, was an early adopter of cloud technology and utility computing, and has designed, built and managed large-scale field deployed clouds that support applications as diverse as digital media, financial services and computational mathematics.
Terry's approach to cloud assumes providers are a resource marketplace and BeSC's developments have focused on provider and technology agnostic approaches to cloud use and technology.
