A prestigious line-up of judges has been announced for Young Rewired State's "digital olympics". We're excited to be hosting the south-west regional event at our offices in August.

A prestigious line-up of judges has been announced for the final of Young Rewired State Festival of Code 2012.

Acress and campaigner Lily Cole, designer and developer Aral Balkan, mathematician Conrad Wolfram and political advisor Jonathan Luff will act as judges for YRS's "digital olympics", with BBC "Bang Goes the Theory" presenter Dallas Campbell as compere.

We will be hosting two young coders as part of the Festival of Code from 6-12 August, with mentoring provided by members of our web development team. Stay tuned to our news pages and blog for more on how our young coders progress.

Over 500 kids across the UK will be taking part in the event, which culminates in a coding sleep-over in Birmingham's stunning Custard Factory venue.

Emma Mulqueeny, Director of Rewired State and Young Rewired State, says; “The response has been crazy this year. The first year we held the event, in 2009, we scoured the whole of the UK and scraped together 50 kids, now the word has got out, YRS is the place to be if you are a talented young coder.”
