The NHS24 website we developed for NHS 24 has been shortlisted in this year's EHealth Insider awards.

The website we developed for NHS 24 has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Excellence in Major Healthcare IT Development Award category, in the EHI awards.

As part of the project we redeveloped the NHS inform and NHS 24 websites and their intranet in partnership with ATOS. We implemented an online symptom checker on NHS24.com and microsite health zones on NHSinform.co.uk to help provide targeted and up-to-date healthcare information for Scotland.

Gerry McGuire, Technical Development Officer at NHS 24, who joined us to present the project to the awards judging panel, commented:
“Everyone involved in the project is delighted to be finalists for the EHI Awards and look forward to finding out if we are overall winners. Visits to the NHS 24 website are up 17% from this time last year. We are serving new content via the microsites on NHSinform.co.uk and it is now much easier for the public to find health information that is relevant to them. Our partnership with Eduserv has been essential in enabling NHS24 to achieve this.”

The two IT suppliers also updated www.nhsinform.co.uk and migrated www.nhs24.com onto a single content management system – making it quick and easy for NHS24 to update its website with vital medical advice.

John Simcock, Health Sector Manager at Eduserv, says, “This is great recognition for the NHS 24 website. The site has helped improve patient access to vital healthcare information online, easing the pressure on call centre resources. We are also providing support to ensure the website runs efficiently.”

The EHI Awards celebrate the excellent work being done in UK healthcare IT. Winners will be announced on 4 October at the London Grand Connaught Rooms.
