EMpact, part of the EBSCO group, is to promote OpenAthens globally to publishers that want to broaden exposure to their electronic products and content.

EMpact, part of the EBSCO group, has entered into a global (excluding Israel) agreement with Eduserv to provide sales representation for OpenAthens. OpenAthens is an identity and single sign-on product that controls users’ access to online resources with a single username and password. It is currently used by more than three million people worldwide to access resources such as journals, databases and desktop applications.

Tom Edmonds, OpenAthens Product Manager, commented, “Eduserv is excited to be working with EMpact to bring the benefits of single sign-on to a much wider audience. We have over 15 years’ experience in the UK academic market and we’re delighted that EMpact will be helping us to bring the OpenAthens products and services to a broader worldwide market.”

“We are very pleased that Eduserv has chosen us to help increase sales efforts for their OpenAthens product. The single sign-on product is widely recognised with customers spread across the healthcare, academic and publishing markets, and commercial organizations,” said Elizabeth Waddell, Director at EMpact.
