A panel discussion will explore issues around cultural change and skilling up for cloud.

Andrew Hawkins will facilitate a panel discussion about where public sector ICT is heading and how government can adopt new technologies and business models. The panel will cover the SME agenda being driven by Cabinet Office and the cultural change that needs to be considered when moving to the cloud.

Andrew will be joined by Tonino Ciuffini, Head of Information Assets at Warwickshire County Council, Graham Kennedy, Vice-Chair at Public Sector Council; and Mark Stone, Transformation Director at Wiltshire County Council. The following topics will be addressed:

Culture change

  • Is the UKPS culture ready for Cloud?
  • What needs to change?
  • How to galvanise change?
  • Have lessons been learnt from the Shared Services agenda?
  • How does buying behaviour need to change?
  • Does Cloud threaten jobs?

Skilling up for Cloud

  • Does the UKPS need to be a less intelligent customer, or a more intelligent customer?
  • What needs to change?

The panel discussion will be held on the plenary at 10:20am.

The Think G-Cloud 2012 agenda aims to educate delegates about the benefits surrounding the changes taking place in Public Sector ICT procurement. Seminar topics include security and the cloud and a Masterclass in how to buy cloud services. This event is suitable for ICT and finance professionals from the public sector.
