  1. NVivo Server pricing assumes 100 named users or 33 unnamed users for each single Central Processing Unit (CPU).
  2. Fees includes software maintenance and the number of Client Access Licences (CALs) required to connect with NVivo Desktop.
  3. An NVivo Server Licence includes support to run the Software in a Virtual Machine (VM) environment.
  4. It is a prerequisite of purchasing an NVivo Server Licence that the Licensee must have already purchased, or purchase with the NVivo Server Licence, a Licence for NVivo Desktop Software.

Other Notes:

  • Prices exclude VAT
  • QSR are able to raise prices by up to 5% on an annual basis or upon the release of a new product version. However, this will ONLY impact on new sites joining after the price increases.  Existing sites will continue to pay the pricing agreed at time of signing the licence form.

Payment Terms

Eduserv will invoice Licensed Institutions for the initial fee on receipt of a completed Licence. Sites will then be invoiced annually three months in advance of the anniversary of their licence start date until the end of their chosen Licence/Commitment Period. All payments must be made to "Eduserv" within 30 calendar days of the date of invoice.

You are advised that because of the requirement for Eduserv to collect monies due before the anniversary date two charges may initially fall into one academic accounting year.

Start date: 1 July 2012      End date: 30 June 2017

Commitment Period

Institutions will be committed to the licence for a three or five year period.

Licence Type

Site licence with normal Eduserv Standard Terms and Conditions of use. Copying of the Software is allowed at any licensed Institution for use in accordance with the Eduserv Standard Licence Conditions for Software.

The Eduserv Standard Terms and Conditions entitle Authorised Users to use the software off-campus on PCs owned by either the institution or themselves. The restictions on use and distribution of the software still apply when used in this way. In particular Section 13 of the Chest Order Form (PDF, 559 Kb)  

The Chest Standard Terms and Conditions entitle Authorised Users to use the software off-campus on PCs owned by either the institution or themselves. The restrictions on use and distribution of the software still apply when used in this way.

Users are allowed to use the Licensed Products off-campus on computers owned by either the Licensed Institution or themselves. However, such use and distribution of the Products remains governed Standard Terms and Conditions of the Agreement and any User using the Products must have signed a copy of Home Use Rights Acknowledgement Form of the Agreement, or a similar generic document provided by the Licensed Institution, to say that they have been informed of, and will abide by, the obligations therein.

Use of Products outside the territory of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland by Users from Licensed Institutions temporarily working outside that territory is allowed provided the Licensed Products are only installed on the Users personally owned computers or on computers provided to them by the Licensed Institution.

Users are responsible for preventing third-party use whilst they are outside the territory and for ensuring that Products are not loaded onto any other machine whilst they are outside the territory. They must also still conform to the terms, conditions and restrictions on use stipulated in this Licence. Users making use of Products outside the territory of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland may do so for a period of up to three months.

Use of Products outside the territory for any longer period is not allowed, save but by specific written authorisation from QSR. Such authorisation may be by letter, fax, email or similar method of electronic communication and shall be communicated to an applicant User by QSR direct.


Termination Clauses

At the end of the Period of Agreement, if there is no new Agreement between QSR and Eduserv or a new Agreement directly between the Licensed Site and QSR, then Licensed Sites are required to remove all copies of QSR Products from their systems - including personal machines which have been loaded with a copy of the software - at the expiry of their Licence (Commitment) Period.

Personal Licences

Only site licences are available under this agreement. If you would like to purchase a personal licence for NVivo then we recommend that you refer to the QSR website or contact QSR directly via email at info@qsrinternational.com.

Trials

You can test QSR's NVivo 9 software with a free trial version. This is fully functional software that can be used for a 30 day period. Download it from the QSR website.

Product Documentation

There are a range of materials to assist Network Administrators and users:

  • A reference guide that has been developed specifically for Network Administrators, or anyone who is installing QSR’s NVivo 9 software onto an organization’s network -  Network Administrator's Guide (PDF, 435 Kb)  
  • Use Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to deploy NVivo 9 and its prerequisites to client machines.
    Refer to the SCCM Deployment Guide (PDF, 288 Kb)  for detailed instructions.
  • NVivo software is supplied with a guide to ‘Getting Started'. PDF versions of this guide can also be downloaded from the QSR website - NVivo 9 Getting Started.
     
  • Tutorials are animated demonstrations that show users how to create and set up a project. They're built into the software and can be accessed from the Help menu or from the QSR website.
  • The software's 'Help' section contains an overview of the QSR product and detailed step-by-step 'how to' instructions for working with the software. Again, this information can be accessed from the Help menu in the software.
  • Communicate with other QSR software users in QSR's Forum.

Training and Training Materials

QSR can put organisations in touch with an expert team of trainers and consultants to help users get the most out of their QSR software. A range of services can be provided, from one-on-one consulting to group workshops on site. These services are not included in the Chest agreement and are provided for an additional fee. System releases, new versions and functionality

From time to time, QSR will release service packs for its software to address issues or provide minor enhancements. These service packs are available free of charge to all NVivo users, and can be downloaded from the QSR website.

Major Software Releases
An important benefit of the Chest Agreement is that you receive free major software upgrades at the time they are released. So while your NVivo Agreement is current for example, you'll receive every major version of NVivo that is released.

Method of delivery of product

The master copies of media and Licensed Materials will be delivered to the Licensed Site by QSR when the Licence is signed by the Site and returned to Eduserv.
