Abstracts and indices of ProQuest’s arts and humanities, social sciences, technology and natural sciences collections.
- 3 year agreement with annual opt out option
- Flat pricing over 3 years (no year on year increase) and prices held since 2010
Universities, colleges and other learning, educational and research bodies in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Other organisations aligned with Eduserv’s charitable objectives of supporting education, research bodies and the public sector may ask to participate in the Agreement. Eduserv will liaise with the Supplier about any such requests.
This agreement replaces the previous ProQuest A&I Collection Chest Agreement.

Users can set up RSS feeds for any search query or any publication available to them on the ProQuest platform Dublin Core
Release 3, available 24/7 for download Reports available through the ProQuest Administrator Module Interface is compliant with Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the licence includes exemptions for visually or hearing impaired persons Via the ‘My Research’ feature. Examples of features available include the ability to create a bibliography, and the ability to print, email, save, and export items found during the session ProQuest availability has been 99%+ for the last several years. All additions and new functionality will be incorporated at no additional charge.
- There is no annual increase in fee
- All prices are in GBP
- All prices exclude VAT.
There are seperate prices for HE and FE Instiutions.
Prices for Higher Education institutions are banded large, medium and small according to the following rules;
Large = JISC BANDS A and B plus these institutions in the Republic of Ireland; Trinity College Dublin, University College Cork and University College Dublin.
Medium = JISC BANDS C and D plus these institutions in the Republic of Ireland; Dublin City University, National University of Ireland, Galway and the University of Limerick.
- Small = JISC BANDS E to J plus all other third level colleges in the Republic of Ireland

On receipt of a completed Order, Institutions will be invoiced for the Agreement year in which the Licence is signed.
In subsequent years, Institutions will be invoiced three months in advance of the anniversary date of the Agreement, on 1 June 2012 and 1st June 2013 unless they have provided notice to Eduserv to terminate on or before 1 May 2012 or 1 May 2013.
There is monthly pro-rata charging for Institutions which become licensed partway through a licence year.
All Purchase Orders must be made out to Eduserv and Eduserv's invoices must be paid within 30 calendar days of the date of the invoice.

Institution Commitment Period
This Agreement is of 3 years duration. Institutions may join the agreement at any time during the agreement period. They will then be committed to the end of the Agreement Period unless they have provided notice to Eduserv to terminate on or before 1 May 2012 or 1 May 2013..

What institutions and library services are allowed to do?

Who can use the resource?
Standard licence – covers an institution for their own students and their personnel. The standard licence can be extended for additional fees;
Option for Extended Educational Purposes – covers all other educational activities that the institution is involved with.
Licence Extension for Commercial Projects – covers use of the resource in commercial projects.
Whereas the institution has the discretion over whether or not to take up the Option for Extended Educational Purposes, under the Licence Extension for Commercial Projects the publisher has the right to object to any project.

What can authorised users do?
The resources can be used for Educational Purposes – see Licence Term 1.1(b):
- distance learning
- private study
- academic research
- administration and management of the Licensee’s educational or research operations
- See Licence Term 3 for exclusions and restrictions
- The resources may not be used for anything other than Educational Purposes unless the Licence Extension for Commercial Projects has been bought; this allows use for the restricted “Commercial Projects” defined – see Annex B of the Licence (Licence Extension for Commercial Projects)
- Downloading of large amounts of material by authorised users that might be considered ‘systematic’.
The Licensee may retain an electronic copy of the Licensed Material in its archives for reference only. Copies of parts of the Licensed Material already made and/or used by the Licensee or Authorised Users in accordance with clause 2.2 may be retained and used in accordance with the terms of this Licence Agreement – see Licence Term 10.5.
An institution may opt out of the three year agreement at any anniversary date provided they have given notice in writing to Eduserv on or before 1 May preceding the anniversary date.
