Background Information

Eduserv has had an Agreement for Ingres software since 1990 and this has been amended and extended a number of times since. The current Chest Agreement runs until 31 December 2014.

Also offered through this Agreement is:

  • Vectorwise Enterprise Edition for up to eight CPU cores.

Payment Terms

All prices are in GBP.  All prices exclude VAT which shall apply at the appropriate rate. Payments are due within thirty days of invoice date. Recipients of late payments are entitled to interest in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Regulations 2002.

Please note that where a licence period of greater than one year is selected, sites will be invoiced three months in advance of the renewal date (on 1 October).

Agreement Period

Start date: 1 January 2012         End date: 31 December 2014

Commitment Period

Institutions can join the agreement at any point during the Agreement Period and can either licence the products annually, for two years, or for a full three-year term.

Termination Clauses

At the end of the chosen Licence Period sites are required to remove all copies of Ingres from their systems, unless they renew the licence for a further term.

Technical Support

Actian will provide email, online and telephone advice and support to the nominated Technical Contact and his/her Deputy at Licensed Sites during normal business hours.

Only registered support users can download software.  To register, complete the registration form at: http://www.actian.com/user/register.php

Although Licensed Sites are permitted to use versions of Ingres prior to version 2.6, currently support is only provided for the most up to date version. Support for version 2.6 ceased on 31 December 2009.

System releases, new versions and functionality

Licensed sites are entitled to all updates and new versions that are made generally available to customers. Updates include full releases, patches, and service packs.  There is no defined release cycle.
