International Monetary Fund (IMF) E-library
We would like to hear from you if your institution is interested in a Chest Agreement for IMF E-Library. The IMF E-Library provides the only comprehensive access to IMF publications. There are a number of product and platform enhancements for it due in 2010.
The content includes:
World Economic Outlook - a summary of the IMF’s ongoing global surveillance activities providing global and regional projections, indicators and analysis.
Global Financial Stability Reports - analysis of global capital flows designed to identify potential risks that may lead to financial crises.
IMF Working Papers - ongoing IMF staff research, covering a wide range of current topics on economic developments and trends.
IMF Country Reports - detailed evaluations and analysis from regular official consultations with each member country including summaries and overviews, use of IMF resources, financial sector stability assessments and current issues.
Regional Economic Outlooks - biannual reports providing regional overviews and analysis of important events for regional and global economies. Regions are: Asia and Pacific, Middle East and Central Asia, Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa and Western Hemisphere.
Manuals and guides - IMF standards and guidelines for economic policy and communication. These include statistical compilation guides, manuals on fiscal transparency, managing public debt, and general data dissemination.
Reports - Annual Report on Exchange Arrangements and Exchange Restrictions, IMF Annual Report of the Executive Board, Independent Evaluation Office Report, and Summary Proceedings of Annual and Board Meetings.
Books - leading theory and analysis on a wide range of current topics. Recent titles include: Fiscal Management of Scaled-Up Aid, Managing the Oil Revenue Boom – the Role of Fiscal Institutions, and Poverty and Social Impact Analysis.
Statistical databases - link to the IMF’s online, interactive databases with comprehensive global coverage, historical data and multiple format support. Databases include:
• International Financial Statistics – more than 32,000 time series, covering all aspects of global finance.
• Balance of Payments – more than 100,000 time series of standardised, comparable transaction data.
• Direction of Trade – more than 100,000 time series showing the value of merchandise imports and exports between economies.
• Government Finance Statistics – more than 135,000 time series that facilitate the evaluation of government liquidity and financial stability.
Pricing will be based upon student FTE count:
• Over 20,000 £4,500 per annum
• 10,001 – 20,000 £3,900 per annum
• 10,000 or less £3,250 per annum
• All FE colleges £2,250 per annum
The IMF International Financial Statistics, Balance of Payments, Direction of Trade, Government Finance Statistics and World Economic Outlook databases are available the UK academic community for free from the ESRC funded ESDS International data service at Mimas (http://esds.ac.uk/international/)
