Site Eligible for Chest Agreements

Higher Education and Research Sites

These are sites that are funded and defined by the Higher Education Funding Councils of England, Scotland and Wales and by the Department for Employment and Learning in Northern Ireland. All Research Councils (CCLRC, PPARC, EPSRC, NERC, MRC, BBSRC, ESRC) are included in Chest Sites.

Further Education sites

These are sites which are funded by the Learning and Skills Council in England and the Further Education Funding Councils for Scotland and Wales.

Ireland sites

These sites are defined by the HEA (Higher Education Authority) of Ireland.

Associated sites

These are organisations which are significantly engaged in teaching and/or research, support Higher Education, have email facilities, are UK resident bodies and are not-for-profit. They have agreed to formally adopt the Code of Conduct for the Use of Software and Data. See Advantages of Associate Membership for further details and an application form.
