Government Cloud

We are in a strong position to develop cloud computing for government as we already use much of the technology to deliver our Government Ready Platform (GRP), a virtualised platform available as a shared service for government organisations.

The GRP is similar to a ‘private cloud’ and government organisations are already realising the benefits the technology can provide: agility, security and cost efficiency.

IaaS platform for government

We are now building a highly resilient, scalable, IL3 accredited IaaS platform for government. This will help the government transform decision making, policy development and service delivery - moving away from silo based management to flexible, borderless IT services.

The platform will scale to support tens of thousands of users across government. Delivered from multiple UK data centres and accredited to IL3, our Cloud will enable government departments to reduce IT costs and application deployment time whilst ensuring risk and security management requirements are met. 

Our other government cloud projects

We are also contributing our knowledge of cloud technologies and our experience of working with large government organisations to aid discussions on Cloud computing for government that are being led by the Intellect group.

We are currently partnering with Capgemini to develop an internal SaaS cloud for a central government department. The private cloud will provide software and business information on demand from the cloud for all its staff and partners.
