The Eduserv Foundation Symposium 2006

Thursday 18th May 2006
RSA, John Adam Street, London WC2

The themes of the Foundation's second annual symposium were identity management and e-portfolios. Information about the day's proceedings is available.

The use of e-portfolios is seen as a key strand in the DfES strategy to deliver a personalised learning experience for all learners - both as a mechanism to support the movement of people between institutions and as a tool by which the individual can plan their own development. The symposium aimed to:

The event began with a keynote address by Alan Cranston (Information Policy Unit, DfES), and the breakout seminars that followed facilitated discussion between all participants. The symposium finished with a drinks reception and opportunities for further discussion.

The symposium was intended for policy makers, practitioners and technologists working in the areas of information and communications technology and e-learning service delivery in UK HE and FE institutions, and for commercial software and service suppliers selling to that community.

Our first symposium in 2005 investigated the collaborative development and distributed reuse of e-learning resources. Copies of that event's presentations and proceedings can be found at Symposium 2005.
