1. SAS Agreement Renewal – important news

Eduserv Chest met with SAS on 10 April to further discuss the renewal of the agreement which is due to end in July 2008.  We are pleased to tell you that we have a proposal to renew; it is SAS and Eduserv’s intention to continue the agreement for a further 3 year period.  The agreement will continue with the same licence terms and conditions.  Prices for the main SAS Software packages will remain the same too.  A number of additional products are to be included.  Our discussions with SAS carry on to finalise the details and to clarify a number of points relating to the additional products.

Please can you let us know by email if you intend to renew your SAS licence from 1 August 2008 and include any comments that you think we might find useful in the final stages of our negotiations.

We do appreciate that there are important deadlines to meet to ensure that SETINITS are deployed in good time following the receipt of licences and our aim is to complete negotiations as soon as we can.  Eduserv Chest will keep you informed on progress.

2. Adobe update

Eduserv Chest and UCISA Software Procurement Group representatives met with Adobe this week to discuss a number of topics pertinent to the Community.

3. Oracle news

Negotiations continue and we would be most interested in hearing from sites who are considering purchasing new Oracle products (rather than additional licences for existing products) in the foreseeable future to receive feedback on the proposed pricing. Please contact howard.moody@eduserv.org.uk

4. Eduserv seminars – three more dates available
