The popular agreement for ESRI GIS software has been renewed for a further 3 year and 5 month term until 31 July 2011 following significant effort on the part of ESRI, ESRIUK, the ESRI Focus Group and Eduserv.
The Agreement is open to institutions of Higher and Further Education, and Research Councils in the
Eduserv will continue to represent the interests of universities and colleges with regard to a number of issues that have been raised. Currently these will be pursued in the following ways;

With the support of the ESRI Focus Group, we will seek the guidance of appropriate government departments on best practice in dealing with the apparent conflict between
· We are engaged with ESRI to establish whether there is a technical solution to lock down the source code.
· We anticipate confirmation that the problems relating to delivery of licence keycodes have been resolved.

The Eduserv Chest SAS Agreement for analytical software is scheduled for renewal from 1st August 2008. Discussion with SAS has started and there is a meeting between Eduserv and the supplier scheduled on 10th April. We expect to send an announcement with details of the renewal proposal and the arrangements for completing licence paperwork and receiving licence codes to current subscribing sites in May. The Eduserv agreement for the application and graphics building package Uniras from AVS is to be extended for a further 5 years from 1st April 2008. Prices will be maintained at the current level and sites renewing their licences will receive an early bird discount. Eduserv has been running a successful series of one day seminars and has three more dates for your diaries.
The purpose of the seminars is to help institutions to understand the services offered by Eduserv and to help us to understand how we can support your access management strategy and other purchasing decisions.
