SAS Software 2008 Agreement

Product Description

SAS® software offered under this agreement consists of a standard SAS Education Analytic Suite package of commonly used SAS® products. There is also the option to licence additional individual products in the fields of Business Intelligence, Advanced Analytics and SAS® Solutions.

Special Licence Conditions - Read this document carefully to ensure that SAS software is being used at your Institution according to the terms of this agreement. The conditions in this document override those of the General Licence Conditions. In particular, please note the following summary concerning the specific provisions against using the software for commercial exploitation:

SAS® software is provided to users under the terms of a Licence Agreement which includes specific provisions against using the software for commercial exploitation. Under the Licence Agreement, providing copies of the software is permitted only on a cost recovery basis. That is, you may recoup the actual licence cost, the cost of the media used, costs for delivery to the site, and the time spent in preparing the copies. Anything more is considered "commercial exploitation", and is not permitted under the Licence Agreement. The responsibility for use of software rests with the Head of Computer Services of the licensing institution.

Under no circumstances should the SAS® software product authorisation codes - SETINITS - be published on a website on open access. Such action provides scope for illegal use of the software and is strictly forbidden under the terms of this Agreement. Any such action leaves the responsible Institution vulnerable to legal action. SAS® software is the copyrighted property of SAS Institute, and is provided to users under the terms of a Licence Agreement. Publication of the software product authorisation code - SETINIT - is unauthorised and is illegal. The responsibility for use of the software rests with the Head of Computer Services of the licensing institution. Please ensure that the SAS SETINITS that are supplied along with your SAS® software licensed through the Eduserv Chest Agreement are never placed on web pages that are publicly accessible.

Please remember that if you participate in this Agreement you have signed a Copyright Acknowledgement agreeing to abide by the terms of the Licence Agreement with SAS. If there is a violation of the licence terms concerning use of the software for commercial gain, or by excessive copying charges, or by publishing the SETINITS on an open access website, SAS may withdraw the licence and take other action.
