Camtasia Studio, Camtasia Relay and Snagit

Camtasia Studio is screen recording software that allows you to record on screen activity then edit it in to a video file and share it.

Camtasia Relay allows multiple people to create screencast videos with just a computer.  Once recorded, the video is automatically produced and available for viewing online or downloadable as a podcast.

Snagit enables you to take a snapshot of anything on your PC or Mac screen, save it, edit the image and then share it.

Eligible Institutions

This Agreement is available to Institutions of Higher and Further Education and Research Councils in the United Kingdom, Universities, Institutes of Technology, National University of Ireland Colleges, Colleges of Education, Colleges of Further Education and State Aided Institutions in the Republic of Ireland.

This agreement was negotiated to address the Community’s request for a Camtasia Chest Agreement.

Product Description

Camtasia Studio allows users to record, edit and share onscreen activity.

SnagIt can take a “snapshot” of anything on your PC or Mac screen and turn it in to a detailed graphic.

Camtasia Relay allows the recording and distribution of lectures and other presentations.

Chest Fee is £300 per annum.

The prices quoted above are for a non-concurrent, per installation Licence. Sites may make additional licence purchases at any time during the agreement period subject to a minimum order quantity of 100. Pricing is based on the total quantity of licences and if the new purchase will take this total in to a higher band then that price will prevail. There is no pro-rating for licences purchased between anniversary dates.

Note: Snagit for Mac, in addition to PC, is part of the Camtasia Studio and Snagit bundle licence

Camtasia Relay is priced per production server, the recorder component may be freely distributed to an unlimited number of Macs and PCs at your Institution.

Chest Fee is £300 per annum, if a site simultaneously takes Camtasia Relay and the Camtasia Studio & Snagit bundle then the annual fee will only be £300.



Payment Terms

This agreement is of three years duration, commencing the date that a site enrols and terminating three years after the enrolment date.

On receipt of one completed Licences/Schedule 4 (Schedule of Particulars) plus an Institution Purchase Order made payable to Eduserv, sites will be invoiced for the Agreement year in which the Licence is signed.

For the two subsequent years, Sites will be invoiced three months in advance of the anniversary date of their enrolment to the Agreement.

Prices exclude VAT.

All purchase orders must be made out to Eduserv and payments must be paid within 30 calendar days of the date of invoice.

Start date: 1 January 2010 End date: 31 December 2012

Commitment Period

Institutions may participate in the Agreement at any time during its life, but shall be bound by its Terms and Conditions, including payments, until the end of the Institution’s chosen Commitment Period (three years from date of enrolment).

Licence Type

This non-concurrent volume is subject to Eduserv General Licence Terms and Conditions for Software with the Special Licence Conditions detailed Special Licence Conditions (PDF, 278 Kb) .

Copying of the Software is allowed at any Institution for use by any member of staff or student in accordance with the General Licence Terms and Conditions for Software.

Products may be installed only on machines owned by the Licensee. Installation on privately-owned machines is forbidden.

Termination Clauses

At the end of the Licence Period, unless a further Licence Period is entered into, Licensee must cease all use of the Licensed Product and de-install and destroy all copies in its possession.

It is the intention of Eduserv and TechSmith to renew this three year Agreement. If the Agreement is renewed or extended then new conditions may apply. If the Agreement is not renewed then any extension is a matter between institutions and TechSmith however for a further one year sites can buy licences at the same price as under the Agreement.

One copy of system releases and/or new versions and/or new supporting documentation will be available for electronic download by Licensed Sites as and when they become commercially available.
